Eight Reasons You Need to Fly Private Print E-mail
by Rebecca Ruiz (Forbes.com February 6) takes us on a 4-day $86,000 Gulfstream IV journey to Las Vegas with a catered on board meal from Nobu at $5,000. It was all business, of course. But at least writer Ruiz cites 8 reasons why this haute trip makes sense to the invited guests and the hedge fund manager who got the check.

For our part, we have been following the research sponsored by Elite Traveler on their audience of private jet owners – dazzling data on the super-rich 110,000 households with net worth of at least $25 million. Elite Publisher Doug Gollan was quoted recently by WWD as saying that “there was a 50% increase in private jet travel to the Super Bowl—round trips that cost $50,000-$100,000 if those trips were from the Northeast.”

Significance to luxury travel suppliers other than private jet vendors? Once again, we’re ‘on the case’.
